Almás pite (Hungarian apple pie)

- Apple — to buy4
- Flour — to buy250 g
- Butter — to buy125 g
- Sugar — to buy100 g
- Egg — to buy1
- Cinnamon — to buy1 tsp
- Baking powder — to buy1 tsp
Preparation
Preheat the oven to 180°C and butter a 24 cm tart tin.
Peel and thinly slice the apples, toss them with the cinnamon and a tablespoon of sugar, set aside.
In a bowl, mix the flour, baking powder and a pinch of salt.
Add the diced butter and rub it in with your fingertips, then work in the egg and remaining sugar until you get an even dough.
Set aside a third of the dough in the fridge, spread the rest over the bottom of the tin, pressing it slightly up the sides.
Spread the apples over the dough, then crumble the reserved third of dough on top to form an uneven crust.
Bake for 40-45 minutes until the top is golden and the apples are tender, let cool slightly before unmoulding.
