- Egg — to buy3
- Salt — to buy1 pinch
- Sugar — to buy1 tbsp
- Neutral oil — to buy500 ml (for frying)
- Honey — to buy250 g
Preparation
Mix the flour, eggs, salt and a little sugar, knead until you get a firm dough, adding a little water if needed.
Roll out the dough thinly, cut into small strips then into little sticks about 2 cm long.
Heat the frying oil to 170°C and fry the small pieces of dough in batches for 2-3 minutes, until golden and puffed; drain on paper towel.
Heat the honey in a saucepan over low heat until it becomes nice and runny, without boiling it hard.
Tip the fried fritters into a large bowl, add the hot honey and mix well to coat them all.
Pour the still-warm mixture into a mould and pack it firmly into a pyramid or ring shape with damp hands.
Let cool and set before cutting into portions: chak-chak is traditionally served at Uzbek weddings and major celebrations.
