- Flour — to buy225 g
- Sugar — to buy175 g
- Butter — to buy175 g
- Egg — to buy3
- Baking powder — to buy2 tsp
- Milk — to buy100 ml
- Chocolate — to buy200 g
- Grated coconut — to buy150 g
Preparation
Preheat the oven to 180°C and butter a square cake tin.
Beat the softened butter with the sugar until pale and creamy.
Add the eggs one at a time, then fold in the sifted flour and baking powder, alternating with the milk.
Pour the batter into the tin and bake for 25 to 30 minutes, until a knife inserted in the centre comes out clean.
Let cool completely, then cut the cake into 5 cm squares.
Melt the chocolate with the butter and a splash of milk to make a smooth icing.
Dip each square of cake into the chocolate icing with a fork, letting the excess drip off.
Immediately roll each square in the desiccated coconut and leave to set on a rack before serving.
