- Flour — to buy400 g
- Butter — to buy150 g
- Sugar — to buy80 g
- Baking powder — to buy1 tsp
- Cardamom — to buy1/2 tsp
- Milk — to buy100 ml
- Dates — to buy300 g
- Eau de rose — to buy1 tbsp
- Egg — to buy1
Preparation
Mix the flour, melted butter, sugar, baking powder and cardamom, add a little warm milk to form a soft dough. Let rest 20 minutes.
Pit the dates and blend them with a little rose water until smooth.
Roll out the dough, cut out discs, place a spoonful of date paste in the centre of each and close into small, well-sealed parcels.
Arrange on a baking tray and brush the top with beaten egg yolk for a nice golden colour.
Bake 20 minutes at 180°C (355°F) until the klecha are golden, let cool slightly before enjoying.
