- White fish fillet — to buy600 g
- Onion — to buy1
- Tomato — to buy4
- Garlic — to buy2 cloves
- Chili pepper — to buy1
- Neutral oil — to buy2 tbsp
- Lemon — to buy1/2
- Salt — to buy1 pincée
- Pepper — to buy1 pincée
Preparation
Rinse the fish fillets, pat them dry and season with salt, pepper and a squeeze of lemon. Let marinate for 10 minutes.
Heat the oil in a large pan over medium-high heat, sear the fillets for 2-3 minutes per side until lightly golden, then set aside.
In the same pan, sauté the sliced onion for 5 minutes, add the crushed garlic and sliced chili, and cook for 1 minute.
Add the diced tomatoes and simmer for 10-12 minutes over low heat until you get a thick, fragrant sauce.
Adjust the seasoning, return the fish to the sauce, cover and cook for another 5-6 minutes over low heat until the fish is cooked through and flakes easily.
Serve hot, coated with the sauce, with sadza or rice.
