- Ground beef — to buy400 g
- Onion — to buy1
- Garlic — to buy2 cloves
- Cumin — to buy1 tsp
- Chili pepper — to buy1
- Fresh cilantro — to buy1 bunch
- Lemon — to buy1/2
- Phyllo dough — to buy8 sheets
- Neutral oil — to buy1 L (frying)
Preparation
Heat the oil and sauté the sliced onion for 5 minutes until translucent.
Add the minced meat, garlic, cumin and chili, cook for 8-10 minutes, breaking it up with a fork, until fully cooked and dry.
Add the chopped coriander and lemon juice, adjust the seasoning, let the filling cool.
Cut the filo sheets into strips, place a spoonful of filling at one end and fold into a triangle to the end of the strip.
Seal the edge with a little water or flour paste.
Heat the frying oil to 170°C and fry the sambusa for 3-4 minutes per batch, until crisp and well colored.
Drain on paper towel and serve hot with chili or kachumbari.
