Preparation

  1. Melt the butter over low heat.

  2. Add the flour all at once and stir into a paste.

  3. Pour in the milk little by little, whisking to avoid lumps.

  4. Let it thicken for 5 minutes while stirring, season with salt, pepper and a pinch of nutmeg.
