- Tomates séchées — to buy80 g
- Water — to buy300 ml (for soaking)
- Olive oil — to buy1 tbsp
- Onion — to buy1
- Garlic — to buy2 cloves
- Chili pepper — to buy1
- Salt — to buy1 pinch
Preparation
Soak the dried tomatoes in warm water for 15 minutes to rehydrate them.
Drain them, keeping the soaking water, then roughly chop them.
Heat the oil in a saucepan and sauté the sliced onion and garlic for 3 minutes.
Add the rehydrated dried tomatoes and the chili, sauté for 2 minutes.
Pour in the strained soaking water, bring to a simmer.
Simmer for 15 minutes over low heat, until the sauce thickens slightly.
Season with salt and pepper, roughly blend if you want a smoother texture, then serve hot with rice or millet paste.
